About Me

GET TO KNOW ME!

The Person Behind the Blog

I first travelled to Albania in 2024, spending several months in Saranda and Vlore. Now I’m in Albania 4-6 months a year, slowly exploring the entire country.

Albania is an under appreciated gem of Europe!

Why Albania Should Be Your Next Trip

Albania has only recently hit the tourist radar. It’s not because the country isn’t fantastic, but because it was closed off to foreigners for 40 years, only re-opening to tourism in 1991. But even after 1991 the country faced a collapsed economy and civil unrest.

Albania is slowly rebuilding and rebranding as a democratic nation and destination for travellers. Albania has a lot to offer:

  • pristine beaches on the same Ardiatic and Ionian coasts as Greece and Croatia
  • one of the largest alpine regions in Europe
  • historic sites from the Ottoman, Greek and Roman empires
  • varied cuisine influenced by its Greek and Balkan neighbours
  • one of the most budget friendly countries in Europe

I slow travel full time and have travelled extensively through many of these countries. I often guest post about them on other travel sites:
