About Me

GET TO KNOW ME!
The Person Behind the Blog
I’m Suzanne of Albania Voyagers – and that is my dog Watson. We are Canadian, but slow travel full time around the world.
I first travelled to Albania in 2024, spending several months in Saranda and Vlore. Now I’m in Albania 4-6 months a year, slowly exploring the entire country.
Albania is an under appreciated gem of Europe!
Doing research for my first trip to Albania I realized there wasn’t a lot of up to date information. I started this blog to inspire and help other travellers plan their own Albanian explorations.
Why Albania Should Be Your Next Trip
Albania has only recently hit the tourist radar. It’s not because the country isn’t fantastic, but because it was closed off to foreigners for 40 years, only re-opening to tourism in 1991. But even after 1991 the country faced a collapsed economy and civil unrest.
Albania is slowly rebuilding and rebranding as a democratic nation and destination for travellers. Albania has a lot to offer:
I slow travel full time and have travelled extensively through many of these countries. I often guest post about them on other travel sites:

I’m currently exploring northern Albania and Kosovo with my dog, Watson!
We’re checking out Shkoder and the surrounding alpine region before heading down into eastern Albania.
